Singapore Disability Sports Awards 2021
The Singapore Disability Sports Council (SDSC) is delighted to announce the return of the Singapore Disability Sports Awards (SDSA) 2021 presented by Haw Par Corporation. SDSC is honoured to have Haw Par Corporation on board as presenting partner for the annual awards that aim to recognise achievements and contributions made by individuals or groups to the development of disability sports.
This year’s SDSA 2021 presented by Haw Par Corporation will be slightly different – the achievements that are being celebrated and recognised will not be limited to sports performance, given the lack of international and local competitions in FY2020/2021. The awards will instead focus on the display of Paralympic values such as courage, determination, inspiration and equality by the athletes, their support system and members of the community. As such, SDSA 2021 presented by Haw Par Corporation is a special Resilience edition.

Public Voting for SDSA 2021 presented by Haw Par Corporation
To create a heightened sense of awareness among the general public, SDSC will be introducing the public voting component for both Sportsperson Category and Contributor Category.
Public voting will be open for the period of one week, from Monday, 19 July 2021 to Friday, 23 July 2021. Here’s how your vote will count. Every unique ‘like’ on the nominee’s photo will count towards a vote. Each person can vote for different nominees in the same award category.
Each person must also like SDSC’s Facebook page for each ‘like’ on the nominee’s photo to be valid. Scores will be tabulated as of Friday, 5.00pm, 23 July 2021.
Public voting will count towards a percentage of the nominee’s overall score.

About the Singapore Disability Sports Awards
The Singapore Disability Sports Awards (SDSA) was brought back in 2019, after the last Sports Awards had been held more than a decade ago in 2008. The only other time that the achievements of the para sports community were recognised was in 2014, when SDSC had given out a set of Outstanding and Meritorious Achievement awards as part of its 40th anniversary.
With the commitment made in 2019 to continue holding the SDSA every year, SDSC remains committed to celebrating the achievements of the wider para sports community. This will allow us to recognise the efforts of the support system of coaches, volunteers and partners, and provide an opportunity to celebrate moments from the past year. In doing so, we hope the stories will inspire greater awareness for para sports and inspire other persons with disabilities (PWDs) to be open to the idea of participating in sports.
