[SDSC Statement] Postponement of Tiger Balm National Boccia Championships 2021

The Singapore Disability Sports Council (SDSC) would like to seek your understanding that the Tiger Balm National Boccia Championships 2021, that was due to take place on 22 and 23 May 2021, has been postponed until further notice.

This is in view of the COVID-19 Multi-Ministry Taskforce’s advisory issued on 4 May 2021, titled ‘Updates on Local Situation, Border Measures and Shift to Heightened Alert to Minimise Transmission’.

The Tiger Balm National Boccia Championships is an annual signature event and SDSC recognises that our community has been eagerly looking forward to the competition.

Nonetheless, the health and safety of all participants, athletes and the community remains SDSC’s priority. Given the increased vulnerability of some para athletes, SDSC will enforce more stringent measures where necessary. Let us all do our part to curb the rise of infections in the community and make Singapore safe for us to return to some norm soon.

We will continue to monitor government advisories and community sentiments and provide an update on the new dates for the Tiger Balm National Boccia Championships 2021 as soon as possible. We seek everyone’s patience and understanding in this matter.

If you have any questions regarding the Tiger Balm National Boccia Championships 2021, please contact Mr Loh at lohnk@sdsc.org.sg.

Thank you very much.

Yours sincerely,

Kelly Fan

Executive Director
