Statement from our Patron
Personal Statement by Ms. Ho Ching, Patron of the Singapore Disability Sports Council (SDSC)
The Singapore Disability Sports Council (SDSC) has been a beacon of courage, resilience and inclusion, by uplifting lives through sports, for over half a century. It champions abilities over disabilities. Its lasting foundations of quiet, daily victories empower individuals, unite families, and build a more inclusive community.
Sports have an extraordinary power to transform lives, be it recreational sports for joy and relaxation, or apex performance that showcase zeal and exceptional talent. From schools to international arenas, sports unite people and continually surprise us with possibilities beyond limitations.
I love how SDSC is shaping a society, where everyone has a place and a voice, where families celebrate abilities rather than fret over disabilities, and our community fosters hope and human connections, courage and kindness.
I admire SDSC’s relentless innovations to open sports for different abilities, and to overcome obstacles for people of all abilities to enjoy sports together.
Shall we build a Singapore where inclusion is a way of life, and the human spirit is celebrated?
Shall we turn ideals into reality of a stronger, healthier, and kinder society through sports?
Say yes by supporting SDSC in its mission – be it giving in cash, kind, volunteering time or expertise, enabling pilots or partnerships, or simply sharing the stories of our community.
Let’s make our Singapore an inclusive and thriving oasis of hope, possibility and positive transformation for everyone.
Ms Ho Ching
