Pesta Sukan, a Malay phrase that means Festival of Sports, is an annual event in Singapore that celebrates the lead up to National Day. Pesta Sukan 2024 features a variety of sports, including five para sports.

Haw Par National Youth Swimming Championships 2023

The Singapore Disability Sports Council (SDSC) is the organiser for the annual National Youth Swimming Championships (NYSC) and the championship is currently proudly sponsored by Haw Par Corporation Limited. The championship now extend its invitations to students with disabilities from mainstream schools, in alignment with the MCCY Disability Sports Master Plan. With the assistance of the Ministry of Education (MOE), the SDSC is able to reach out to students with disabilities from mainstream schools to participate in the championship. The NYSC aims to create a platform for youth with disabilities to participate in a competitive setting. Potential newcomers will be given opportunities to further hone their athletic abilities if they show promise, and interest, in joining the National Elite Training Squad. Results from the event are also used as selection criteria for regional or international competitions.  Official Results You may find the official results here. The National Para Swimming Championships (NPSC) is an annual Swimming championship. NPSC sees to the inclusion of the deaf community in the event, in addition to persons with physical, intellectual and visual impairment. The annual meet is sponsored by JCCI Singapore Foundation – a charitable channel of Japanese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI), Singapore and Micron Technology. It is organised by the Singapore Disability Sports Council (SDSC). 2023 will see 39th edition of the championships. The competition aims at creating opportunities for persons with disabilities to swim at a competitive level. Annually, over 100 para-athletes from special schools, associations and clubs are expected at the event. The competition also serves as a platform for SDSC coaches and officials to scout for potential candidates to nurture and enlist into the National squad in hopes that they will be able to proudly represent Singapore at international competitions. Outstanding performers may be selected to represent Singapore in regional and international competitions. Previous editions of the competition have produced National Paralympians such as Theresa Goh, a multiple-gold medalist at the ASEAN Para Games and Yip Pin Xiu, the first Singaporean to win a Gold Medal at the Paralympics and world record-breaking swimmer. Race format This will be a continuous contest over four (4) 50m races, commencing with 8 competitors. After each race, two swimmers, who score the lowest according to the Australian Multi-Class Point System (MCPS), will be eliminated. National Para Swimming Championships 2022

37 swimmers participated in the National Para Swimming Championships 2022, which was held on 29 April 2022. It was the first time in three years that the event was held, with the last edition of the event held in 2019.
