The Singapore Disability Sports Council (SDSC) is the organiser for the annual National Youth Swimming Championships (NYSC) and the championship is currently proudly sponsored by Haw Par Corporation Limited. The championship now extend its invitations to students with disabilities from mainstream schools, in alignment with the MCCY Disability Sports Master Plan. With the assistance of the Ministry of Education (MOE), the SDSC is able to reach out to students with disabilities from mainstream schools to participate in the championship.
The NYSC aims to create a platform for youth with disabilities to participate in a competitive setting. Potential newcomers will be given opportunities to further hone their athletic abilities if they show promise, and interest, in joining the National Elite Training Squad. Results from the event are also used as selection criteria for regional or international competitions.
