National Para Swimming Championships
The National Para Swimming Championships is an annual event that aims to create opportunities for persons with disabilities to swim at a competitive level. Annually, over 100 para swimmers from special schools, social service organisations and swim clubs participate in the event. The competition is open to persons across all disabilities, including physical impairment, visual impairment, intellectual impairment, autism, Down syndrome and deafness.
The competition also serves as a platform for SDSC to scout for potential candidates to nurture and enlist into the national para swimming squad. National athletes that have been scouted through this championship include Paralympians Yip Pin Xiu, Theresa Goh, Toh Wei Soong, Sophie Soon, as well as ASEAN Para Games medalists Wong Zhi Wei, Colin Soon, Danielle Moi, Darren Chan and Janelle Tong.
Details of our upcoming iteration of the event can be found on our Calendar of Events.
