Allianz MoveNow Mentoring Program (2024-2025)

Allianz is one of SDSC’s partners in promoting inclusion. MoveNow Mentoring Program, a collaborative initiative between Allianz Asia Pacific, Halogen Foundation, and Singapore Disability Sports Council, was launched in January 2024 at the Allianz Regional Office in Singapore. The programme aims to foster meaningful connections and mentor youths and young athletes with disabilities in Singapore in their transition from academic life to work life. (Read more here)

Allianz Asia Pacific celebrated the first batch of mentees who completed a six-month transformative journey through its inaugural MoveNow Mentoring Program which commenced in January this year. (Read more here)

The MoveNow mentoring program has not only helped to enrich the perspectives of participants but has also inspired these youths and para-athletes to one day become mentors themselves as they leverage what they have learnt to navigate and thrive in their own careers.

The second run of this programme will commence in 2025. Stay tuned for more updates!

Focus on Abilities dialogue (January 2024)

Entitled “Winning Beyond the Podium: Navigating Dual and Post-Sport Careers as a Para Athlete”, the session brought together 20 incredible para athletes and caregivers for an insightful discussion.

What went down? Para-athlete extraordinaire Ms. Nurulasyiqah Taha (Paralympian, SDSC Board member, and Chairman of the Singapore Para Athlete Commission) shared her inspiring journey of balancing a full-time job and training as a para athlete. Mr. Ron Loh (Deputy Chief of SGEnable) and Mr. Bernard Lim (spexBusiness) shed light on the challenges of inclusive hiring and the resources available to boost para-athlete employability.
